We’re looking for Systems Design Engineers to join a growing engineering team working on advanced command and control systems. These systems play a key role in complex, real-world environments across both land and maritime applications.
This is a hybrid role, with around 3 to 4 days per week on site in Bristol due to the nature of the work.
You’ll also be required to go through SC clearance for this role.
The role involves the design and development of command and control software, supporting both upgrades to existing systems and the creation of new capabilities for a range of customers. The work sits at the centre of the full product lifecycle, giving you the chance to collaborate with a wide range of teams including systems architecture, software, and integration. You’ll gain a strong understanding of how complex systems come together and how they are used in practice.
Day to day, you will:
- Support the functional design of software systems
- Work closely with system and software architects
- Analyse requirements and system interfaces
- Propose design improvements and solutions
- Explore system behaviour and performance, including complex algorithms
- Generate requirements for both software and hardware
- Investigate and respond to technical queries
The systems you’ll work on help users understand complex environments, make decisions, and manage operations effectively, often in time-critical situations.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in systems engineering or systems design, ideally within complex or safety-critical environments
- A problem-solving mindset and an interest in tackling technically challenging work
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- A degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent practical experience
What’s on offer:
- Annual bonus scheme
- Competitive pension contribution
- Paid overtime opportunities
- Flexible leave allowance with additional days available
- Enhanced family leave policies
- On-site facilities including subsidised meals and parking
- Ongoing training and clear career development pathways
