A development and up-skilling opportunity has arisen for the role of Housing Services Technical Officer within the Housing Service. The successful candidate will be supported to develop into the role and undertake duties required under the Housing Act 2004 and Renters Rights Act 2025.

The main purpose of the role is to support the Housing Standards Manager and Senior Housing Technician (Private Sector) to participate in the inspection, enforcement, investigation and administration of private sector housing matters falling within the responsibility of the Housing Services Section under the Housing Act 2004 and Renters Rights Act 2025.

The role will manage the Invest to Save scheme, working closely with the Homelessness services to process approved applications for Rent Bond or Rent in Advance funding and undertake inspections to assess accommodation under HHSRS. The role will also be required to process funding received from external partners to set up tenancies.

Ideally applicants should have experience of undertaking inspections of accommodation within the private rented sector and/or managing grant funding from external organisations to establish tenancies. We will consider applicants who wish to work part time or full time. Due to the demands on the service, if requesting part time, the role will need to be a minimum of 30 hours per week.
