As an AI Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll act as a bridge between product, engineering, and customer success teams. You’ll be embedded with clients to deeply understand their workflows, rapidly prototype solutions, and deliver technical integrations that unlock measurable business value. This role combines enterprise architecture, full-stack engineering, agentic AI application development, and technology consulting, with a healthy dose of customer-facing hustle. You’ll work closely with the customer, engineering leads, product managers, and field teams to deliver tailored deployments that demonstrate FYLD’s value in the real world.
You’ll spend significant time on customer sites (across the UK), working directly with stakeholders — from field workers to executives — to deliver and iterate solutions that drive adoption and ROI.
Key responsibilities include:- Collaborate with customer stakeholders to identify high-ROI operational pain points and translate them into technical solutions.
- Rapidly prototype and ship proof-of-concept features, often in collaboration with the FYLD product and AI engineering teams.
- Design and deliver agentic AI-driven workflows — e.g., AI assistants, automation agents, or decision-support tools built on top of FYLD’s data and customer data.
- Work hands-on across the full stack — typically React/React Native on the front end and Django REST Framework on the backend, in collaboration with our core product team.
- Act as a product owner and solution architect in the field — shaping requirements, prioritising improvements, and influencing FYLD’s roadmap through real customer feedback.
- Drive measurable customer ROI, using your technical and operational insights to propose, implement, and validate value-creating solutions.
- Play a key role in technical sales and solution design, helping secure deployments, deliver impact, and unlock expansion opportunities through demonstrable ROI.
- Travel to customer sites for multi-week deployments (UK-wide), working on-site during the week.
- Demonstrated ability to drive measurable ROI for SaaS customers — identifying value opportunities and leading technical delivery from concept to impact.
- Confident with data - you can make sense of diverse customer data sets and identify what’s valuable for the problem at hand.
- Proven experience as a full-stack engineer (React/React Native + Python/Django is our stack, but we’re happy for you to learn).
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in agentic AI systems, LLM-powered automation, or intelligent workflow tools.
- Have worked with large enterprise IT departments as a vendor of Enterprise SaaS products.
- Demonstrated ability to pick up new technologies quickly and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Exposure to field services management or workforce management in regulated or safety-critical industries (utilities, energy, construction, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Exposure to machine learning/AI systems, MLOps and how data is leveraged for insights.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and understanding of scalable architectures.
- Experience in solution architecture or as a technology consultant is a strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset — you thrive in ambiguity and love delivering impact fast.
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical concepts into operational value for non-technical stakeholders.
- A self-starter with a “get it done” mentality — comfortable juggling engineering, stakeholder management, and delivery responsibilities. You love working at a super fast pace.
- Growth mindset - low ego, humble and eager to learn. Always looking to improve themselves and the company.
This role is remote within the UK, with commitment to travel to customer sites for multi-week deployments (UK-wide), working on-site during the week. Alongside monthly meetings in Great Portland Street/ Goodge Street, London. This is a full-time role.
