We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of water infrastructure projects across the Yorkshire Water framework.
You will lead mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, working with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and the client to deliver projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate mechanical engineering activities across the full project lifecycle.
- Manage technical submissions, drawings and procurement schedules.
- Review mechanical equipment specifications, procurement packages and subcontractor submissions.
- Coordinate mechanical plant with Civil, Electrical, ICA and Process disciplines.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning and technical queries.
- Manage subcontractors and support project review meetings.
- Assist with variations, valuations, cost control and commercial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with client, health & safety and quality requirements.
- Support the Project Manager and deputise when required.
About You
- 5+ years' experience in a Mechanical Project Engineering role.
- Strong mechanical/MEICA knowledge within water, infrastructure or a similar process industry.
- Knowledge of pumps, pipework, valves, treatment equipment, lifting systems and associated mechanical plant.
- Experience managing subcontractors, procurement and project delivery.
- Experience delivering projects valued at Β£2m+.
- Commercially aware with strong stakeholder management skills.
- HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- CSCS Card and driving licence.
- Water sector and AE/AP experience would be advantageous.
