Job Description

Role : Mechanical Project Engineer

Location : North Wales

Salary : £45k-£60k

Our client is a well-established leader in the building and construction industry, providing a comprehensive range of services, including construction, civil engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, property development, and facilities management. With a seamless, integrated approach, they deliver projects across various sectors, offering expertise from design through to completion and ongoing support.

They are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team, based at their office in North Wales.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project scopes and delivering projects within the water and wastewater industries across the UK. The role will involve managing site activities and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the procurement of mechanical equipment.
  2. Collaborate with contract delivery teams to carry out installation works.
  3. Supervise subcontractors as required.
  4. Conduct detailed site surveys and assessments.
  5. Prepare and evaluate submissions for project claims, such as Compensation Events (CEs).
  6. Support client, designer, and internal mechanical design reviews.
  7. Check and review technical drawings.
  8. Assist with site management for project delivery teams.
  9. Maintain quality assurance (QA) records as required.
  10. Ensure all method statements and risk assessments are in place and appropriate before work commences.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Previous experience in a similar role within the water and wastewater industries.
  2. A proven track record of delivering projects safely and efficiently, meeting quality, time, and financial targets.
  3. Strong skills in developing client relationships and building effective teams.
  4. A time-served mechanical engineering background with a relevant qualification, such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, or a BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
