Location: Hybrid working from our client's office near Trafford House, Manchester.

Our Client: An engineering design consultancy working closely with a wide range of clients across a number of disciplines within the UK Water, rail, and utilities industries. Role Purpose: Produce solutions and design deliverables for mechanical engineering designs in the water industry.

Role Profile:

  • Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
  • Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry.
  • Direct and develop CAD technicians.
  • Prepare scopes for and check output of subcontract M&E design teams.
  • Liaise with, prepare specifications for and review tender responses from equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
  • Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
  • Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
  • Estimate hours required for design packages.
  • Present at and attend meetings and design presentations.

What we require from you:

  • 5 years’ mechanical design experience in the UK water industry.
  • Graduate, HND or significant experience from technician level.
  • Good level of IT skills.
  • Registered with professional body and working towards chartership.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered engineer.
  • Experience in hydraulic design.
  • Experience in UMON schemes.
  • Experience in wastewater and clean water, infra and non-infra.
  • Aware of construction methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
