I’m currently working with a growing engineering and infrastructure contractor looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to support a strong pipeline of projects across the water, utilities, and industrial sectors. This is a key position within the pre-construction and work-winning team, helping deliver technically sound and commercially competitive bids for electrical installation, refurbishment, and upgrade projects.
What you’ll be doing:
- Producing accurate electrical cost estimates for industrial and infrastructure projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Supporting design assumptions through cable sizing, voltage drop, and protection calculations
- Liaising with engineering teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Sourcing quotations for MCCs, PLCs, and specialist control equipment
- Contributing to technical submissions, risk reviews, and value engineering opportunities
- Supporting project handovers to delivery teams post-award
What they’re looking for:
- Experience in Electrical Estimating within industrial, utilities, or infrastructure environments
- Strong understanding of BS 7671 / IET Wiring Regulations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of LV installations and industrial electrical systems
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
Desirable:
- Water, utilities, or power sector experience
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
- Experience with Trimble Electrical Designer or similar software
