Senior Electrical Design Engineer Water Sector About our client An engineering consultancy with experience in the design and installation of complex infrastructure within operational rail networks and water treatment facilities. The business combines design and build knowledge to develop safe and efficient engineering and installation methodologies, identify and mitigate key risks, and demonstrate value for money to clients. The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to manage the quality and technical aspects of electrical engineering designs. The role will take responsibility for delivering compliant, high-quality electrical design packages for the water industry while supporting and developing junior members of the design team. Key Responsibilities * Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements. * Produce electrical design calculations and drawings for the water industry. * Direct and develop CAD technicians, junior designers and graduates. * Prepare scopes for, direct and check the output of subcontract electrical design teams. * Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers. * Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications. * Ensure designs comply with relevant technical, professional and group standards. * Ensure project changes affecting design packages are fully implemented and recorded. * Estimate the hours required for design packages. * Present and attend design presentations and project meetings. Required Qualifications & Experience * 10 years’ relevant design experience in the water industry. * Significant experience in LV design. * Graduate qualification or HND. * Good level of IT capability. * Registered with a professional body and working towards chartership. Preferred Qualifications & Experience * Chartered Engineer status. * Experience in control and/or telecoms engineering. * Experience with ATEX. * Experience in HV, LV and ICA designs. * Awareness of construction methods and materials. * Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
