Are you an early-career Quantity Surveyor looking for a role where you can develop your commercial experience and work on interesting engineering projects? We’re currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established and expanding team. This would suit someone with around 1–2 years of experience who is ready to take the next step in their career and gain broader exposure across project commercial management. You’ll be working alongside experienced Project Managers, Engineers and commercial professionals, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills across the full project lifecycle. What will you be doing? Your role will cover a broad range of commercial activities, including: * Managing and monitoring project costs from start to finish. * Supporting monthly commercial reporting and CVR preparation. * Assisting with valuations, applications for payment and invoice management. * Identifying and managing variations, compensation events and changes. * Supporting the preparation of estimates, budgets and forecasts. * Reviewing contracts and helping ensure commercial requirements are met. * Assisting with subcontractor procurement and commercial management. * Monitoring project progress and its impact on commercial performance. * Working with project teams to identify potential risks and opportunities. * Developing positive working relationships with clients and subcontractors. * Providing general commercial support across multiple projects. What are we looking for? The ideal candidate will have: * 1–2 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor. * A background in construction, engineering, infrastructure or rail. * A relevant Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification. * Some practical experience of project cost control and commercial management. * Good numerical and analytical ability. * Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with different stakeholders. * The ability to stay organised and manage competing deadlines. * A genuine interest in progressing within the commercial side of the industry. You don't need to have mastered every aspect of Quantity Surveying already — this is a role where development and progression are encouraged. What’s in it for you? Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll receive: * 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays. * Additional holiday entitlement after two years. * The option to purchase extra annual leave. * Company pension. * Support towards professional memberships and chartership. * Regular training and CPD opportunities. * Ongoing career development and performance reviews. * Cycle to Work scheme. * Regular team events and social activities. * A supportive environment with experienced professionals around you.
