We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor in the water industry, for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support ongoing water treatment projects across Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a strong commissioning background to join a well-established team delivering essential infrastructure projects in the clean and wastewater sectors. The role is site-based, so candidates should be within commutable distance of Kent or willing to stay locally during the working week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical commissioning activities on water treatment sites (clean and wastewater).
  • Undertake inspection and testing of LV electrical installations and equipment.
  • Support end-to-end commissioning from installation through to handover.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams including ICA, mechanical, and process engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical input into commissioning plans, procedures, and risk assessments.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning within the water industry.
  • Strong background in electrical testing and inspection (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent beneficial).
  • Good understanding of ICA (Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) systems.
  • Sound process knowledge related to water and wastewater treatment.
  • Comfortable working in a site-based role with flexibility for travel across Kent.
  • Self-sufficient, proactive, and confident engaging with clients and subcontractors on-site.
