Location: Hybrid working from our client's office near Trafford House, Manchester.

Our Client: An engineering design consultancy working closely with a wide range of clients across a number of disciplines within the UK Water, rail, and utilities industries. Role Profile:

  • Direct and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduates.
  • Identify and implement appropriate, safe, efficient and value-engineered design solutions and communicate these to client and project teams.
  • Act as Professional Head for design function.
  • Guide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards and approve design packages.
  • Identify and implement appropriate software packages, and drive the use of BIM and 3D modelling where necessary.
  • Manage production of design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements and are fully integrated.
  • Review, interpret and brief standards, procedures and changes to them.
  • Manage production of design deliverables within agreed timescales and hours and to formal processes and procedures.
  • Ensure project change for design packages is fully recorded.
  • Lead the estimating of hours required for design packages.

The Projects you’ll be working on: Varied projects across the UK water industry, AMP7 & AMP8 including:

  • Designs of UMON 3 and 4 upgrades at sewage treatment works nationwide.
  • Designs of clean water main replacements nationwide.

What we require from you:

  • 10 years’ experience working in the engineering design industry in the water sector.
  • Graduate or HND.
  • Good level of IT skills.
  • Chartered Engineer.
  • Desire to take a leading role in the engineering design team.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Understanding of MEICA, civils and process designs.
  • Track record managing multidisciplinary design teams and projects.
  • Driving licence & access to vehicle.
