Our client, a leading water sector specialist, is looking for an Electrical Team to carry out reactive work in Hampshire. This would ideally consist of 1 Electrician and 1 Electrical Improver.
Role Overview
This role will involve working across Southern Water sites, carrying out primarily planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities. This is a permanent position contracted to 40 hours per week. Door-to-door pay is provided. Typical working days are likely to be around 10 hours, with overtime paid after 40 hours worked. Participation in the call-out rota is a requirement of the role, therefore candidates should be based within the Hampshire area or within a reasonable commuting distance. A company van will be provided. A van-sharing arrangement is preferred, so candidates who know an Electrical Improver or colleague to work alongside may be considered favourably as a pair.
Role Responsibilities
- Carry out general electrical duties including the installation, testing, maintenance, and inspection of all current carrying equipment up to 1000v AC and 1200v DC.
- Maintain a safe working knowledge and understanding of the company Permit to Work system.
- Install and maintain electrical equipment including MCC panels, motors, control systems, and both fixed and portable electrically operated equipment.
- Select, install, and erect cable handling and containment systems.
- Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures, site rules, and company policies relevant to the work being undertaken.
- Read, understand, and sign onto all CPP/RAMS documentation while adhering to Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments on site.
- Ensure all required PPE is worn correctly and consistently at all times.
- Promote a strong safety culture by always considering personal safety and the safety of colleagues.
- Be willing to support other departments when required, including assisting Mechanical or Civil Engineering teams.
- Take responsibility for the safe and proper use of a company van.
- Be prepared to work away from home when necessary, typically Monday to Friday, where travel arrangements are in the best interests of the company.
