Our client, a leading water sector specialist, are looking for Mechanical Fitters to join on a permanent basis. This role is based out of Denbigh but covering North Wales working on Welsh Water sites. Sponsorship cannot be offered on this role, candidates MUST have full RTW in the UK. A UK drivers licence is also essential. Standard working hours: 40 hours per week. Fitters work as part of mobile teams and must be prepared to provide out of hours work when required. Van provided or van share.
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain mechanical equipment, including motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
- Fit and install steel support systems as needed.
- Troubleshoot and perform fault-finding on mechanical equipment.
- Assist electricians or civil engineers with tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety procedures and company policies, including following Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments on-site.
- Understand and sign all CPP/RAMS documentation before starting work on-site.
- Always prioritize safety, keeping both personal and team safety in mind.
- Manage and take responsibility for the use and upkeep of a company van.
- Perform other general mechanical duties as assigned.
Candidate:
As this role is working on water treatment sites, you must have relevant experience of sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, clean water sites. Candidates must be competent with remedial/servicing work on heavy plant machinery and mechanical assets, including but not limited to: gearboxes, motors, pumps, valves, bearings. Formal Mechanical Qualifications or recognised apprenticeship (Essential). CSCS Card (Essential). Confined Space (Desired). First Aid Trained (Desired). EUSR Water Hygiene (Desired).
