The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 Β£ per year.

This role is based in North Wales, office is based near Denbigh and candidates will need to be commutable to this area and able to travel to sites in North Wales on a regular basis. The client is seeking a candidate with a Civil Engineering background, alongside water sector experience. Any previous experience of working with DCWW is advantageous. Standard working week is 40 hours Monday - Friday. Company Car or Car Allowance is offered as part of a generous benefits package.

Role Overview

An experienced Project Manager responsible for the delivery of clean water and wastewater treatment projects from outline design through detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover. The role requires strong civil engineering expertise and proven experience delivering treatment works and associated infrastructure projects within live operational environments. The successful candidate will lead project safety, programme, cost, risk and quality performance while ensuring delivery strategies align with commercial objectives. Working closely with operational teams, designers, stakeholders and supply chain partners, they will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects safely, on programme, within budget and to required quality standards.
  • Manage projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Develop practical construction methodologies and delivery strategies.
  • Identify and manage project risks, constraints, opportunities and change.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project programmes covering design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts and project performance to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement throughout project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, operational teams, designers and supply chain partners.
  • Ensure operational requirements are understood and incorporated into delivery plans.
  • Provide proactive communication and effective issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Champion a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all SHEQ, CDM and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe design, construction and operational practices.
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance and governance.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors and delivery partners.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and delivery excellence.
  • Support the development of team capability and performance.
  • Manage construction activities within live operational water and wastewater environments.
  • Minimise operational disruption and support successful commissioning and asset handover.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering water or wastewater treatment works and associated infrastructure projects through design, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Strong civil engineering background with experience of reinforced concrete structures, pipelines, pumping stations, buried assets and process infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and operational constraints within live sites.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control (MEICA) systems.
  • Strong programme management, planning and project controls experience.
  • Sound commercial awareness, including budget management, forecasting, risk management and change control.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and design consultants.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and practical application of NEC contracts.
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety requirements.
  • Competent in project management, planning and reporting systems.
