A leading Tier 1 contractor delivering critical infrastructure projects for United Utilities is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of water and wastewater projects across the South Lakes and Lancashire region.
Based from the Preston office with hybrid working available, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the electrical aspects of projects from conception through to completion, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
- The Electrical Project Engineer will work closely with project delivery teams, design engineers, senior management, and client representatives to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- The role offers a blend of project delivery, technical support, stakeholder management, and site-based engineering activities.
- Supporting the successful delivery of water and wastewater projects across the South Lakes and Lancashire region.
- Providing technical electrical engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supporting the design team during key project stages, ensuring designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with project requirements.
- Coordinating electrical installation activities on site and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with specifications and standards.
- Liaising regularly with senior management teams, project stakeholders, and United Utilities representatives.
- Managing and monitoring project progress, costs, quality, and programme performance.
- Supporting procurement activities and subcontractor management where required.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Assisting with commissioning activities and project handovers.
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience delivering electrical projects within the water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation, and project delivery processes.
- Experience working with clients and senior stakeholders in a project environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
