An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an independent and established M&E Consultancy based in the Centre of Birmingham.

Your role would be a mixture of office based duties and attendance at meetings, site surveys, and working alongside other engineers. The company utilises various software packages for all design work and will assist you until you are versed in their use. The company philosophy is to allow Engineers to engage in all manner of project works to enable you to become an all-round engineer, and hence you would be present at client level meetings.

The company is currently engaged in projects across all varied sectors including Education, Residential, Leisure, Mixed Use, Healthcare, and Industrial.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Working as part of an M&E team
  • Advising clients and team members on the integration of passive design and renewable/low carbon technologies
  • Provide support to directors in the preparation of designs and tender packages
  • Represent the company at client/design team meetings
  • Regular site inspections and reports back to the main contractor
  • Use of software such as AutoCAD, Hevacomp and IES to assist in the production of design

We can offer you the career progression that you wish for by working on many varied types of projects across the UK within the private and public sectors, with the Senior support mechanism to assist in your development. You would work alongside Directors and other engineers within the practice as an integral member of the project team. The practice is looking to grow which again offers you a career route. The practice would offer you a route to CIBSE membership which would also assist your own personal progression. All CIBSE membership fees would be paid by the company.
