We are currently recruiting for a fantastic company based in Cornwall (Newquay/Truro area)Looking for someone who has relocated from London recently or is looking to relocate to Cornwall long term and has worked as an Executive Assistant in a family run business.
The role would suit an experienced Business and Private Executive Assistant, someone keen to join a leading independent, leisure and beverage company with a growing portfolio of award-winning products. Alongside their production business, they operate a dynamic and diverse chain of hospitality venues that celebrate community, craft, and exceptional experiences. They are a company of 250 staff with over 100,000 visitors per year and growing rapidly.
They are seeking a passionate, detailed and creative Executive Assistant to help the family operate more effectively, supporting with both private and business duties.
Key Executive Assistant duties:
You will become a key business partner for the family. Turning stones and getting immersed in the business, providing a confidential and discreet feedback mechanism.
Executive Assistant
- Fully immerse self into business. Understand the people, the processes, the problems and the opportunities
- Become \’right hand person’ to the executive directors – follow through actions, hold people to account, pre-empt the next move
- Manage board meeting admin, prep, compliance etc
Senior Leadership Team
- As a key member of the SLT, to demonstrate strong leadership, to embody their values and help positively influence and steer the overall culture of the business
- You will organise and attend board meetings
- Any other activity/task as and when requested by the Directors.
Personal Assistant
- The family is diverse and busy, the duties will be varied from travel and accommodation to project managing building works, liaising with external contractors and ensuring all detail is properly covered.
- Must be totally discreet, confidential and become a trusted, proactive partner
- Family businesses often blur the lines between \’family’ and \’business’, so they need someone who can span both areas seemlessly
Key skills and work experience:
- 5 years min experience in executive/private personal assistant roles
- Family business experience
- Proven ability to maintain discretion and judgment in handling confidential or sensitive matters.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with a proactive mindset and attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment that blends professional and personal boundaries.
- Can deal with stressful situations and high workload effectively
- Ideal but not mandatory – Degree in Business, or a related field
