Location: London Hybrid (2/3 days per week in Liverpool Street office to be alongside key stakeholders)

Reports to: Founder/CEO

Works closely with: VP Product, VP Global Indices and Cards, VP Commercial & Head of Finance

Department size: c. 40, a mix between UK-based and offshore (within Europe)

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking VP Technology to lead at the intersection of data, AI and scalable systems. This is a critical leadership role with both strategic and operational scope, offering the opportunity to shape the next phase of our technology evolution.

The successful candidate will play a central role in transforming our agile, high-performing business into a world-class data-as-a-product organisation. This is a rare opportunity to drive meaningful impact, build for scale and lead innovation at the core of our long-term growth strategy.

About the role:

As VP of Technology, youll be responsible for people leadership, engineering culture, technical architecture and delivery. Youll guide a talented and highly engaged team through a transformative journey, scaling systems, embedding AI and modernising the stack, while keeping quality and agility at the forefront.

What youll be doing:

  • Setting and delivering the technology strategy across products and internal systems

  • Building a high-performance culture within our capable engineering team

  • Leading architectural decisions across our data-centric stack

  • Implementing AI where it adds true value, improving outcomes and industrialising this AI

  • Managing both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring collaboration and engagement

  • Collaborating closely with leadership to align tech vision with business strategy

  • Balancing innovation with pragmatism, scaling capability not just headcount

Youre a strong fit if you have:

  • Delivered complex technology outcomes in startup or scale-up environments

  • Worked in data-centric businesses where data is the product

  • Experience delivering products to enterprise-grade corporate customers

  • Experience working in an ISO 27001-certified organisation, with responsibility for security ownership

  • An engineering background that enables you to lead with technical credibility

  • Practical experience in productionising AI embedding it into workflows in a resource-efficient, value-driven way

  • Deep expertise with AWS and cloud-native architectures

  • Solid DevOps knowledge, with hands-on experience in modern CI/CD practices and infrastructure-as-code

  • A proven track record of hiring and managing high-performing engineering teams across onshore and offshore locations

  • A calm, decisive presence in high-stakes production scenarios reliable, responsive and accountable

  • The technical acumen, strategic mindset and leadership presence to align teams behind a unified engineering vision

  • A people-first leadership approach rooted in empathy, integrity and inclusion

  • A highly collaborative mindset you work well with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute beyond your lane

  • Strong communication skills and a dependable, flexible approach to problem-solving and decision-making

  • Knowledge of ClickHouse or similar high-performance data platforms
