Established 1867, Todd & Duncan has earned the trust of fashion houses and knitwear manufacturers for generations, producing cashmere and lamb’s wool yarns coloured, spun and crafted in Scotland.

Combining traditional methods with a modern approach, all Todd & Duncan yarn is produced at its Loch Leven mill in Scotland, using methods that are true to the ways of the past.

With a story that starts at the heart of the Scottish industrial era in Alva, it is now the only Scottish yarn spinner offering cashmere yarn to fashion houses and premium manufacturers worldwide.

About the Role

With ambitious growth plans, the business is now seeking to appoint a new Sales Director to join the senior leadership team.

The Sales Director will report to the Managing Director and will be supported by a team in the UK and Europe, as well as by sales agents in key territories including China, Korea and Japan.

We are looking for candidates with experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy to deliver sales growth within the fashion/luxury products in international markets.

With a passion for luxury fashion, a comprehensive knowledge of the industry and strong commercial acumen, you will drive the Todd & Duncan brand to achieve its strategic target of achieving further growth.

The individual will hold overall accountability for the development and performance of the sales function along with the following responsibilities:

  • Contribute as part of the Senior Leadership Team to raising performance of the overall business.
  • Development of a commercial strategy considering opportunities, customer insights and investment returns.
  • Management of key accounts to drive growth and development of new clients
  • Identify opportunities for further collaboration with UK textiles partners
  • Provide supportive leadership to the commercial team to support the business’ strategic objectives and continually improve towards best practice across the sales function
  • Present weekly/monthly reports to the Board on commercial performance as required
  • Candidate Skills and Experience
  • Business degree or relevant, ideally an MBA
  • Experience of operating in a senior commercial role within a technical textiles environment, ideally with an understanding of yarn production processes.
  • Proven track record with global customers, and strong connections with the relevant buyer.
  • Inclusive and collaborative style – able to work in matrix organisations, connecting people and best-practices.

This is a key role in the Executive Leadership team and represents an opportunity to join an iconic Scottish company with proud provenance and to positively impact its global performance.

Location can be flexible with regular visits to Kinross and regular international travel.
