FWB is supporting a well-established, private equity-backed Scottish manufacturing business with the appointment of a Head of Finance. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly respected business with an enviable reputation for quality, long-standing customer relationships and operational excellence. Following recent investment and the appointment of a strengthened Board and leadership team, the business is entering an exciting new phase of growth, investment and transformation.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will become the senior finance leader within the business. Initially, the focus will be on delivering robust financial control, reporting, costing, cashflow management and commercial insight, whilst strengthening the finance function and supporting operational performance.
However, this is much more than a traditional financial control role, offering a genuine opportunity to broaden into a Finance Director position as both the business and the successful individual develop. We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and hands-on finance leader who enjoys being close to the commercials and operations of the business.
Equally comfortable producing the numbers as partnering with the leadership team and walking the 'shop floor' observing opportunities and ROI, the successful individual will thrive in a business where titles matter less than contribution, relationships matter more than hierarchy, and leaders are expected to lead from the front.
Likely experience will include:
- Financial control, management reporting and statutory reporting
- Manufacturing, FMCG or other operationally multi-site focused environments
- Costing, margin analysis and operational KPI reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and working capital management
- Systems, controls and process improvement
- Leading and developing the finance team
- The ambition and capability to progress into a future Finance Director role
