We are seeking an experienced and motivated Security Installation Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and commissioning of electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission security systems (CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms) to industry standards.
- Conduct site surveys and plan system layouts in line with customer requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
- Provide user training and handover of systems to clients.
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete accurate documentation, including installation reports and system records.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time.
- Participate in on-call rota for emergency support (if required).
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience installing electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder alarms).
- Good knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NSI, SSAIB, BS standards).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Full UK driving licence (required).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with IP CCTV and network-based systems.
- Knowledge of fire alarm installation (advantageous).
- Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., FIA, CSCS / ECS card, manufacturer training).
