We’re FuturLab, the award-winning game studio behind PowerWash Simulator, the Velocity series, Peaky Blinders Mastermind, and many more awesome games. We are looking for a Senior Tech Artist to join our team on a 6 month fixed term contract and help bring original games to PC, consoles and VR! This is a unique opportunity to work on the award-winning global hit PowerWash Simulator.
As a Tech Artist in our friendly and collaborative team, you'll be working closely with the tech art and art teams to deliver intuitive and useful art tooling. Along with our programmers you will help solve complex technical issues, develop and support art pipelines, and ensure the project’s artistic vision is achieved by developing appropriate technical solutions. As a member of our team, you are expected to be proactive, follow standards and best practices, as well as promote them and mentor less experienced team members.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the tech art lead to deliver art tooling requirements
- Liaising with art and tech to collaborate tool improvements effectively
- Driving tool improvement efforts by informing best decisions and ensuring tooling is intuitive to use with great user experience
- Document tooling improvements for the team to follow
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the games industry as a technical artist
- Strong C# knowledge and experience for tool creation
- Strong Python knowledge and experience for tool creation
- Strong knowledge and experience in Unity games engine for art and tooling
- Understanding of Blender modelling package and Blender tool creation
- Experience profiling CPU, GPU and memory usage
Desirable:
- Experience designing intuitive user interfaces and user experience
- Experience with tooling for Substance Painter, Substance Designer and ZBrush
- Great technical knowledge in 3D modelling
- Experience optimising for lower-end hardware
- HLSL/GLSL knowledge to create performant shaders
- Amplify Shader Editor experience
- Compute shader knowledge
- Understanding of Unity's Scriptable Render Pipeline (URP/HDRP)
- Proficiency with Shader Graph and VFX for graph creation and custom tooling
