A PE-backed SaaS organisation is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. The business has expanded rapidly through product innovation and acquisition, and is now preparing for its next stage: platform simplification, stronger engineering discipline, and scaling for the next wave of commercial expansion and growth.

To support this, we’re looking for a VP Engineering ready to step into their first full CTO role —someone who has operated at scale, built high‑performing teams, and implemented the structures and metrics that drive predictable, high‑quality delivery.

It’s designed for a rising technology leader who wants full ownership of technology strategy, architecture direction, delivery performance, and engineering culture.

The Opportunity

• Rationalise a set of related SaaS products to create a cleaner, more modern platform
• Strengthen engineering discipline, including measurable performance frameworks (e.g., DORA)
• Lead cloud modernisation and standardisation across teams and tooling
• Embed AI‑assisted engineering practices to increase velocity and quality
• Develop a high‑performing leadership team and elevate engineering culture
• Partner with Product, Operations, Security, and PE stakeholders to align on strategy and execution

Who This Suits

• Led sizeable engineering organisations (circa 150–200+ engineers) ideally in a SaaS environment
• Built and scaled teams, developed leadership capability, and uplifted engineering culture
• Implemented rigorous delivery metrics and reporting (ideally DORA or similar)
• Strong stakeholder management experience and credibility at senior leadership level
• Exposure to private equity environments, M&A activity, or technical due diligence
• A modern engineering mindset, strong technical grounding, and enthusiasm for emerging tech
• A desire to take full ownership—strategy, execution, people, investors, everything
