Join us! About the role: As Business Development Director at Futurice, you’ll help us scale our new business engine and the commercial health of our new accounts, reporting directly to our Managing Director. You’ll find, win and run new accounts across clients in legal, automotive, energy and media, using insight-led outbound that converts into multi-year, mid-six-to-seven-figure client relationships, and you’ll bring the discipline to keep growing those relationships once they’re won.
You’ll work with our existing team across the full commercial lifecycle: targeting, outbound, deal leadership, commercial negotiation and the ongoing growth and renewal of key accounts. This is a hands-on, collaborative role where you’ll:
- Convert a target account list: turn insight-led outbound into real conversations and opportunities.
- Lead deals: from qualification and discovery through bid strategy to proposal and pitch materials.
- Lead key accounts: build and carry out a growth plan for each.
- Negotiate: commercial terms, pricing and scope, with margin in mind.
- Develop our partnerships: technology and channel partners.
- Forecast and govern: keep the pipeline and forecast for your accounts clear and honest.
Skills & Requirements: We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in:
- Complex Account Leadership: A track record of leading and growing complex consulting, product engineering or digital transformation accounts in the UK, with deals in the mid-six to seven figures, sold over months and involving multiple stakeholders.
- New Business Experience: You’ve built a new business machine, not just managed an inherited one, and you can show the pipeline numbers to prove it.
- Growing Relationships: A demonstrated ability to expand a client relationship past its original scope, into new business units, new buyers and new service lines.
- Trusted Relationships: Strong, trusted relationships, built over time with previous clients you’ve worked with and grown.
- Commercial Discipline: A deep understanding of revenue forecasting, margin and pricing discipline, and pipeline tooling (Salesforce, HubSpot or equivalents).
- Senior Credibility: You’re credible in front of CIOs, CDOs, CMOs and their direct reports, pre- and post-sale.
- Embrace AI: You use AI in how you work, for example to research accounts, prepare for meetings or shape proposals, and you can tell us how it has helped you.
- Curiosity over ego: You approach disagreement with empathy, learn from feedback, and care for your colleagues.
Desirable: Sector depth experience in legal, energy, manufacturing, automotive, energy or media.
What Futurice Offers You: We use a transparent salary model based on your skills, responsibilities, and impact. The salary band for this role is 86,000-115,000, depending on experience. We also believe in care, trust, transparency, and continuous improvement. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- A supportive, values-driven team culture where individuality is celebrated.
- A personal learning budget (1200/year), mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Flexible, remote-first working with colleagues across the UK and EU.
- Private health insurance (WPA), pension contributions (6%+), and wellbeing support (50/month via Juno).
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off - increasing by 1 day per year after 3 years’ service (capped at 30).
- A tiered parental leave policy (16 weeks maternity, 4 weeks partner, full pay depending on tenure).
- EV salary sacrifice scheme (depending on tenure).
Next steps - who you’ll meet and for what: We aim to make the process clear, human, and respectful of your time:
- Recruiter screen (30m) - with someone from our People Team
- Skills-based interview (60m) - with 2 team members from our Futurice team
- Ways of working & values interview (45m) - with a cross-functional duo.

We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive, regardless of background, identity, or lived experience. We warmly encourage everyone to apply, even if you don’t tick every box.
