Our client, an expanding engineering business, seeks to appoint a Sales Administrator to their sales team. The Sales Administrator will have excellent written English skills for writing proposals and quotations, be very well organised and capable of running the admin for multiple concurrent projects independently, and be comfortable on the phone working pro-actively to contact existing customers to chase progress.

The appointed Sales Administrator will need to have good technical knowledge (ONC / HNC qualified would be great, but experience from working in a manufacturing company is a capable substitute) and will work alongside the technical team to better understand customer requirements. You don't need to be an engineer but you do need to understand the requirements of a technical sale and be able to write proposals that draw on technical info. You'll be given free reign (within reason!) to manage your own diary and must be well organised with good overall knowledge of the sales process.

You’ll be working on existing accounts and already 'opened' new accounts but as you progress you’ll be able to target the contracts you want to work on and build the relationships you feel will best suit the business if you’d like.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Contact customers by phone to chase progress on current and expected orders
  • Write first draft proposals and quotations
  • Liaise with field engineers and partner companies to better understand customer needs
  • Create and follow sales plans for business development and revenue growth
  • Work closely with the Sales Reps to understand client needs and send out targeted mailing/marketing material
Skills & Abilities:
  • ONC or HNC great but not required
  • Experience working in a sales admin role for an engineering or manufacturing business very beneficial
  • Excellent communication and English language skills
  • Previous experience of proposal writing would be very beneficial
  • Attention to detail and excellent formal written English
