We are working with a growing manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Leeds city centre who due to a period of continued growth are looking to appoint a Production Engineer. The role will be focused around 3D design using SolidWorks and implementing continuous improvement strategies onto the shop floor. The successful Production Engineer will be a high level communicator and have the ability to work well with operatives all the way to senior leadership. A background in Fabrication would bode well for this role.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Experience using SolidWorks
- Increase OEE and reduce machine downtime.
- Work with maintenance and advise on TPM/PPM
- Implement continuous improvement
- Make improvements to processes and production techniques. Work with production to reduce lead times, improve tooling and changeovers, and drive greater performance from existing staff
Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive experience of production engineering: layout, continuous flow, SMED, CAPEX, planning, capacity modelling/simulation, costing
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement knowledge. Six Sigma training preferred but not essential
- HND/Degree qualified in Production or Manufacturing Engineering
- Knowledge of high volume manufacturing
