Futures recruitment are looking to appoint a lead mechanical design engineer to work for a low volume high value manufacturing business. As the successful mechanical design engineer you will have experience of industrial / product design and have a flair for the aesthetic. On offer is the opportunity to join an industry leading business that design and manufacture their product on site. Our client has a full order book for the foreseeable future and is going through a period of continued growth. Responsibilities Carry out mechanical fit and compatibility checks Assist production with design of relevant jigs & fixtures, and manage their manufacture Ensure all products are designed for ease of manufacture & assembly Evaluate components from datasheet information and then approve through appropriate testing Build and test initial samples and qualify the design with correct documentation Provide technical support to Production for day-to-day design, performance and quality issues which arise Skills and qualifications: Familiar with 2D & 3D modelling and design packages. Solidworks preferred but not essential Knowledge of metal (castings, sheet metal, extrusions, castings, etc) Experience in high volume manufacturing environment with design for manufacture and test Does this sound like your next role?
