We are currently recruiting for an experienced Facilities Technician to join a well-established commercial site. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on facilities professional with a strong background in building maintenance and general repairs to take ownership of the day-to-day upkeep of a busy commercial environment. The successful candidate will have practical experience carrying out minor electrical, mechanical and fabrication work, alongside general maintenance duties, ensuring the premises remain safe, compliant and fully operational at all times.

The Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
  • Undertake minor electrical repairs, fault finding and basic installation work within competency levels.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance tasks, including repairs to building services, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
  • Complete light fabrication work, including basic welding, metalwork modifications and repairs where required.
  • Conduct regular building inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure all internal and external areas are maintained to a high standard.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency call-outs when necessary.
  • Support contractors on-site and oversee works to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job reports.
  • Assist with site improvements, refurbishment projects and facilities upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with Health Safety legislation and company procedures at all times.

The Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Caretaker, Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, Building Services or Facilities Management role.
  • Strong practical background in electrical, mechanical and fabrication maintenance.
  • Experience working within a commercial, industrial, manufacturing or large-scale facilities environment.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
  • Good understanding of building maintenance systems and services.
  • Knowledge of Health Safety regulations and safe working practices.
  • Competent in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with colleagues, contractors and site users.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (desirable).
