Job Description
Food Manufacturing – £65,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus (Package of circa £80,000)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven SHE Manager to join a leading FMCG company based in the Colchester area!

This is a site-based leadership role, ideal for a forward-thinking SHE professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited by the challenge of shaping a proactive, compliant, and improvement-focused safety culture.
In this role, you will take full ownership of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance and strategy across the site, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term business goals.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and develop the site SHE agenda, ensuring legal compliance and continuous improvement.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through training, engagement, and visibility on the shop floor.
- Monitor and report on SHE KPIs, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
- Support and lead internal and external audits (e.g. HSE, Environmental, BRC).
- Promote and embed CI initiatives focused on risk reduction, sustainability, and safety performance.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and technical teams.
What You'll Need:
- Previous experience in a SHE Manager or similar HSE leadership role within FMCG or Food Manufacturing.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) – essential.
- Strong understanding of current H&S and environmental legislation.
- Experience leading CI and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Confident communicator, influencer, and change driver.
- A hands-on approach with a passion for safety and continuous improvement.
