An established manufacturing business in Chesterfield is reorganising its facility and is looking for a Handyman to support the transition. This is a hands-on, varied role focused on preparing work areas, moving equipment, and carrying out general site maintenance. We need a motivated person who is physically fit and able to cope with the physical nature of the role across a large manufacturing facility.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support site reorganisation, preparing workstations and equipment for relocation
- Move tooling, equipment, and workspace setups across site (no heavy machinery moves)
- Assist with setting up new work areas
- Carry out general tasks such as painting floors, cleaning, and basic refurbishment
- Complete day-to-day maintenance (e.g. minor repairs, fixing doors, installing plugs)
- Liaise with contractors when needed
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a handyman or maintenance role (manufacturing/industrial preferred)
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance
- Proactive, flexible attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
