Our client, a long established and successful electronics manufacturing business, seeks to appoint a Head of Projects to their engineering team. The appointed Head of Projects will run a number of R&D projects, appropriately liaising with internal engineering, quality, production, and purchasing departments, ranging from minor modifications taking a few weeks to brand new designs taking up to 2 years. On offer is a long-term stable career path with a company committed to training their staff and being an employer of choice. You need to understand complex R&D projects (mechanical, electronic, and software) and have an excellent working knowledge of technologically complex design for industrial applications.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Manage full project life cycle of 8-12 concurrent design projects
  • Co-ordinate engineering resources to deliver successful projects on-time and on-budget
  • Chair project meetings, gate reviews, and design reviews
  • Internal project champion. Facilitate better communication between departments and liaise with individual departments to ensure adherence to project timescales
Skills and Experiences:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior project manager role
  • Experience of leading R&D project teams
  • Prior experience working for an electronics manufacturing business
  • Ability to organise and plan. Keen eye for detail
  • Prince 2 beneficial
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project (or another project management tool) beneficial
