Our client, an international engineering business, seeks to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Bradford office. There will be occasional travel but in the main this is an office-based position to design and develop products from initial concept through to finished design.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of a variety of components and assemblies for mission-critical projects. The more experience you have of designing mechanical housings for electronic components or similar equipment (small sheet metal assemblies, plastic components), the better.
Role & Responsibilities:- Create detail designs and other drawings as required
- BOM and assembly instructions, and training and publicity material
- Assist Sales with quoting on special requirements
- Play a key role in prototype build and testing
- Degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- Experienced with 2D and 3D CAD - AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge or equivalent
- Aware of modern manufacturing techniques and materials
