As Logistics Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day logistics operation, ensuring products are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently while maintaining exceptional service levels to both internal and external customers. You will lead, coach, and develop a team, driving operational excellence and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate, and develop the logistics team to achieve operational and business objectives.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily warehouse and logistics activities, ensuring productivity and service targets are consistently met.
- Monitor inbound and outbound goods, ensuring accurate stock movements and timely deliveries.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through effective stock control processes, cycle counting, and investigation of discrepancies.
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Manage team performance through regular coaching, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet changing production and customer demands.
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Analyse operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning within the logistics function.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment and facilities are maintained and operated safely.
- Drive high standards of housekeeping and adherence to 5S or similar lean manufacturing principles.
- Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
We're looking for an experienced logistics professional who enjoys leading teams and delivering operational excellence within a manufacturing environment.
You will have:
- Previous experience in a Logistics Team Leader, Warehouse Team Leader, or Supervisory role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop people.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement methodologies (desirable).
