Overview:
Futures Recruitment is seeking a proactive and results-driven Production Team Leader for a leading manufacturing client. In this hands-on role, you\βll lead a small team to deliver high-quality manufacturing output while ensuring smooth production flow and strong team performance. You\βll take ownership of quality, delivery, and cost targets, support lean manufacturing practices, and embed a culture of continuous improvement β all while motivating your team to perform at their best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team to meet daily targets for quality, delivery, and cost.
- Implement standard work, one-piece flow, and lean principles.
- Conduct daily huddles to review performance metrics and improvement plans.
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and take corrective action as needed.
- Maintain visual management tools and ensure accurate real-time documentation.
- Identify and resolve production issues and bottlenecks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, problem-solving, Kaizen).
- Oversee training and development of team members.
- Assist on the production line as needed.
- Manage shift start-up, changeovers, staffing, and materials replenishment.
- Ensure accurate ERP system transactions.
- Help maintain stock levels and presentation.
- Contribute to new product introductions and improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Sage preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Effective leadership and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to motivate and develop team members.
