Main roles and responsibilities:

  • Working alongside experienced machinists learning and gaining experience in a variety of machine tools.
  • Maintaining high levels of quality accuracy of parts.
  • Helping to maintain good housekeeping within the workspace.

Entry requirements:

  • GCSE or Equivalent in Maths and English Grades 5-9.

Skills required:

  • Logical Initiative

Training to be provided:

The learner will be studying the Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification. Day release to West Suffolk College.

Things to consider:

  • Own transport is essential due to a rural location.
  • Job can be physically demanding and include long periods of standing, with some manual handling.
  • The role is likely to turn into a full-time position upon successful completion of apprenticeship.
