Department rotation
Our Management Trainees will develop all-round knowledge, skills and abilities by spending time on a rotation basis in various departments of the business:
- Bid Management
- Design
- Project Management and Programming
- Quantity Surveying
- Site Supervision
In each department, the Management Trainee will work under the supervision of a designated training mentor who will share their expertise and provide guidance in the various disciplines.
Responsibilities and Training
Below is a short resume of our Management Trainee, ultimately becoming a building services engineer, project manager, design engineer, etc. The training details are currently via London South Bank University on a day release basis to study for a HND apprenticeship in Building Services. Our Trainee programme is in place to develop the future engineers and managers of our business. Our Management Trainees will attend university, currently London South Bank University on a day release basis to study for a HND apprenticeship in Building Services. Fees are paid by the business. At least six-monthly progress reviews with a senior manager/director will provide valuable opportunities to discuss progress against objectives and training plans whilst learning from industry experts. Upon completion of the programme, which usually takes approximately 4 years, the Management Trainee will progress to the next tier of management in one of our departments.
Reporting and Location
Reporting to: Divisional Director and Operations Manager
Location: Bower Fuller Head Office in Ipswich with visits to our Southern Office in Dartford and various sites throughout East Anglia and London.
Entry requirements
Looking for candidates that have good results in Maths, English and Physics at GCSE and A Level/Level 3:
- Strong GCSE results and either have or expect to achieve good A level results or equivalent vocational qualifications.
- Ability to work as part of a team and build a good working relationship with office/site-based colleagues, clients and external workers to achieve a common goal.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- A commitment to develop leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to meet the business needs.
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage changing priorities to meet tight deadlines.
