Reed Forwarding are a small, family run Freight forwarding and warehousing company based in Bury St Edmunds. We are an independent freight forwarding company offering shipping and warehousing services from our site in Bury St Edmunds. We are a small friendly team looking to recruit a Freight Warehouse Operative Apprentice.
Main roles and Responsibilities:
- Check goods / count products / get pictures and record details β goods in and for loadings.
- Pick and pack orders.
- Handload containers / offload containers.
- Use of pump truck and with further training electric pump truck / forklift.
- Housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sweeping.
- Completing paperwork accurately both manually and using technology.
Entry requirements:
- GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.
Skills required:
- Physical fitness
- Initiative
Training to be provided. The learner will be studying the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Things to consider:
- Varied workload from checking goods to handloading containers, very physical job which involves working in warehouse and outside in yard.
- Opportunity for full time role on completion of apprenticeship and to train for Fork Truck license.
