We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Apprentice to join our site team and begin a practical career in school facilities and maintenance.
As a Facilities Maintenance Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced site staff to support the day to day running of the school. This is a hands-on role where you will gain practical experience while completing a Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification. Day release to West Suffolk College.
Main roles and responsibilities:- Assisting with general maintenance, minor repairs, and basic DIY tasks.
- Helping to ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well presented.
- Supporting cleaning and hygiene routines across classrooms and specialist areas.
- Setting up rooms and equipment for lessons, events, and activities.
- Helping with deliveries, moving furniture, and managing stock.
- Learning how to carry out routine safety checks and follow health and safety procedures.
- Working respectfully within a special school environment and supporting staff as needed.
