Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist qualified plumbers with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems
  • Learn to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Support the installation of pipework, fixtures, and fittings (e.g. sinks, toilets, boilers)
  • Help diagnose plumbing issues and carry out basic repairs
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment
  • Follow health and safety regulations at all times
  • Attend training sessions and complete coursework as part of your apprenticeship
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and supervisors

Training to be provided:

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training provider: WEST SUFFOLK COLLEGE

Training course: Plumbing and domestic heating technician (level 3)

Training schedule: The learner will be studying the Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship standard qualification Day Release to West Suffolk College

Entry Requirements:

  • Essential qualifications GCSE in: English and Maths (grade 4)
  • BTEC in: Plumbing and Heating (grade Pass)
