You'll have variety in this role as your duties will include both external and internal painting and decorating works including the treatment and restoration of areas affected by damp and mould. To be considered you'll need a recognised formal apprenticeship qualification (or equivalent), such as a City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in painting. You'll be able to demonstrate your talent and the skills gained in similar roles, along with a working knowledge and understanding of health & safety and COSHH legislation. Your full UK (manual) driving licence is essential as you'll have use of a company van, complying with the standard requirements of our company insurers.

A few key points from our role profile:

  • Undertake the internal and external decoration to properties and associated areas i.e. communal areas, community centres etc.
  • Attend damp, mould and condensation (DMC) jobs and treat affected areas with wash and sterilisation treatment, redecorate with paint with fungicidal additive, and anti-condensation coating if required.
  • Ensure the customer is aware of the products used and the necessary precautions to be taken.
  • Assess for possible causes of DMC jobs and report back potential solutions for action, including inspections of lofts as necessary.
  • Carry out works to alleviate future DMC - remove and relay damaged loft insulation, relay uneven loft insulation, add loft insulation as required.

Your weekly hours of work would be 37, Mon - Thurs 8:00am till 4:00pm, Fri 8:00am till 3:30pm with 30 minutes break for lunch, paid monthly. You'll also get 25 days holiday plus.
