Position Overview
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior Director of Business Development to join FutureMeds and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth and future in healthcare. This is a senior, high‑impact position for a strategic, dynamic, and visionary professional who thrives on building relationships, driving opportunity, and delivering results.
In this role, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, and influence strategic decision making to shape our long‑term growth. You will act as a trusted advisor internally and externally, representing FutureMeds at the highest level and ensuring our innovative research and patient‑focused solutions reach the right partners.
We are looking for a confident leader with excellent communication and negotiation skills, the ability to influence across senior stakeholders, and a proven track record on driving business growth in the clinical research sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and achieve strategic objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, partnerships, collaborations aligned with FutureMeds’ core business areas and growth objectives.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and new market segments, and translate these insights into actionable business plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, biotech and clinical research organisations.
- Support budget negotiations and contract discussions with potential partners and stakeholders to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including FutureMeds feasibility, marketing, legal, and finance, to drive successful execution of business growth.
- Monitor and track industry and competitor activities, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Represent FutureMeds at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and identify new business prospects.
- Provide support/guidance to the business development team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and innovation.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports, forecasts, and recommendations to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development (8+ years) or strategic partnerships within the pharmaceutical or health research industry.
- Demonstrated track record of driving business growth, securing strategic partnerships, and successfully closing complex deals.
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and proposals to diverse audiences.
- Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with the ability to evaluate financial viability and return on investment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
