River Restoration and Catchment Management Hybrid working | Trust office, home and catchment sites Full time | 37.5 hours per week Four-year fixed-term contract | Subject to funding Salary | Competitive, dependent on experience The opportunity Lead an externally funded programme to improve water quality, restore river habitats and support sustainable land and water management. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will turn evidence into practical action, lead a project team and bring partners together to deliver lasting improvements across the trust’s catchment. What you will do • Deliver programme workstreams, managing milestones, budgets, resources, risks and funding compliance. • Lead colleagues, consultants and contractors, and build partnerships with landowners, farmers, water companies and environmental organisations. • Use research and catchment evidence to prioritise interventions and secure agreements and permissions. • Monitor environmental outcomes, report to funders and senior stakeholders, and develop further funding opportunities. What you will bring • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in environmental management, ecology, water management, geography, natural sciences or a related discipline. • Significant experience delivering complex environmental or conservation projects, with strong catchment knowledge and expertise in water quality, river restoration, natural flood management and/or sustainable land management. • Experience in team leadership, partnership development, budget management, grant compliance and reporting to senior stakeholders. • Strong communication, planning and analytical skills, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and project and data management systems. • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use. A relevant postgraduate or project management qualification, experience working with farmers and landowners, and knowledge of catchment-based environmental programmes would be advantageous.
