Contract Data Business Analyst

Location: Newcastle, Manchester or Birmingham (40% onsite).

Salary: Up to £360 per day (Inside IR35). Initial 3-month contract. Active SC Clearance highly desirable.

We are supporting a leading UK B Corp consultancy delivering critical transformation programmes across the public sector. We are looking for multiple experienced Data Business Analysts to join a major government‑backed data platform programme focused on improving data accessibility, governance, quality and self‑service capabilities. You'll work within agile delivery teams, partnering with stakeholders across business and technology to define requirements and help shape data products and services used at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering and managing business requirements
  • Running stakeholder workshops and engagement sessions
  • Supporting backlog refinement and prioritisation
  • Facilitating 3 Amigos sessions
  • Mapping data flows and analysing business processes
  • Supporting data governance initiatives
  • Working on data lineage, data quality and data dictionary activities
  • Contributing to modern data platform and data product delivery

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong Business Analysis experience within Agile environments
  • Experience working on data, analytics or data platform programmes
  • Stakeholder management across business and technical teams
  • User story creation and backlog management experience
  • Exposure to data governance, quality or lineage activities
  • Public Sector, Central Government, NHS, Local Government or Regulated Sector experience
  • Active SC Clearance (desirable)
