The predicted salary is between 72000 - 108000 £ per year.

Futureheads are exclusively partnered with an established edtech who are looking to bring in a head of engineering on an initial 3-6 month contract – Outside IR35. This role will be remote first so you can be based anywhere in the UK, but will likely involve the need to travel a few times a month to an office in the north of the UK (expenses paid).

For this hire, we are looking for someone who has strong technical expertise, particularly in software + data architecture, and can couple this with solid coaching ability. You will work closely with the head of product to win the hearts and minds of the existing team, and influence positive change. Therefore we are in search of a people friendly, collaborative leader, who can garner respect through both their personal approach and technical knowledge.

We are pushing for an immediate start so we can gather momentum, so candidates available immediately or on short notice will be prioritised.

To be considered you will need to be able to display the following:

  1. Proven track record coaching engineering teams and turning around performance.
  2. Solid technical architecture understanding and capability.
  3. Familiarity with modern JavaScript stack – React, Node, Typescript, AWS (Microservices/Serverless).
  4. Experience having worked in an established b2b SaaS business, preferably in a highly regulated sector.
  5. Comfortable working remotely, but willing to travel as required.
