Overview
Cloud Engineer (OCI / Asset Repo Project) — Contract 3 weeks initially – Immediate start (Mon) – £500-525 Outside Ir35
Location: Remote / UK-based preferred
Futureheads are hiring on behalf of our client. We’re looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer to help our client rapidly spin up and stabilise an asset repository and related infrastructure for a 3D content pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Phase 1 – Asset repo / Perforce setup
- Reset and spin up a local Perforce server for asset management
- Work through an existing “how‑to” / runbook and tick-list to get the asset repo fully operational
- Ensure the setup is robust and production-ready
- Phase 2 – Headless CMS deployment
- Deploy a headless CMS into the existing infrastructure (running on OCI today)
- Likely via a VM-based deployment, with consideration for scalability and reliability
- Work with the internal team to integrate the CMS with an Unreal Engine-based experience
You’ll stick around for up to three weeks to verify everything is running smoothly and support any tweaks as the project moves towards go-live.
Tech & experience
- Strong experience as a Cloud Engineer / DevOps Engineer
- Ansible for configuration and automation
- Familiarity with Terraform (ideally with OCI, but strong Terraform in another major cloud is fine)
- Experience with Perforce or similar version control in asset-heavy / game / 3D environments
- Experience deploying and operating a headless CMS (any modern option considered)
- Solid understanding of virtual machines, networking, and basic scalability concerns
- Direct OCI experience is a nice-to-have, not mandatory. A willingness and ability to pick up OCI quickly is key.
You’ll have access to internal guidance and an “owner’s guide” to the environment.
Future potential
This engagement is initially a short contract (2–3 weeks) to set the scene: the asset repo is part of a broader platform (CI/CD, asset distribution, cross-pixel streaming) used for 3D development. If the collaboration goes well, there is likely to be further work as the client rolls out more services and potentially evolves the platform (including possible moves to GCP or other clouds).
