An ambitious and forward-thinking Local Authority in Hampshire is looking for an experienced Principal Policy Planner to join their team on a fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a policy planning professional with strong local plan experience and an interest in shaping the future of major regeneration projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the preparation and delivery of the Local Plan
- Provide expert policy advice to internal teams, councillors, and external stakeholders
- Input into regeneration schemes and town centre strategies
- Support evidence base development and policy monitoring
- Represent the council at public consultations, hearings and external meetings
About You / Qualifications
- Proven experience in planning policy, ideally within a local authority setting
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and local plan process
- Exposure to or experience with regeneration projects
- Ability to manage competing priorities and lead on complex policy matters
- RTPI accredited or working towards accreditation
