FutureDeluxe is a global creative studio with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Sydney. We combine design, technology and moving image to craft visual experiences for future-facing brands. We are a diverse group of artists, directors, designers, creative technologists and administrative professionals who thrive in an environment based on experimentation, collaboration and innovation. From concept through to final delivery, we collaborate with brands to explore, imagine and define their future vision.
You're excited by the challenge of bridging creative production and technical innovation, with the technical depth to see problems coming before they land, and a collaborative instinct that keeps teams moving. You've worked across enough projects to spot patterns, and you implement fixes at the system level, not just project by project. Rendering is second nature, and you're ready to make an immediate impact on day one. When the pressure is on, at crunch, at delivery, in the middle of a demanding production, you're exactly who the team wants in the room.
This role focuses on strengthening the studio's technical direction, pipeline, and rendering infrastructure, while driving innovation in pipeline tools and staying ahead of emerging technologies, all in close partnership with our IT team.
The Opportunity:- Technical & Pipeline Leadership
- Work across our portfolio of projects, helping artists solve Houdini and C4D challenges efficiently and creatively.
- Provide technical oversight and proactive strategic planning across productions — advising on render setup, optimisation, and pipeline consistency.
- Maintain clean, scalable pipelines — including folder structures, naming conventions, and version control best practices. Making improvements and updates where necessary.
- Define and execute a roadmap for the studio’s ideal technical infrastructure, aligning with creative, production, and IT goals.
- Partner with the Production team and Creative Directors to ensure projects are planned and resourced effectively from a technical standpoint.
- Pipeline documentation and enforcement, and possibly assisting with onboarding of freelance teams and ensuring all are following the correct guidelines.
- Collaborate with IT to identify and communicate the studio’s evolving production needs — ensuring the right tools, hardware, and systems are in place.
- Support IT in planning render farm, storage, and software upgrades, offering production-focused insights into real-world usage and priorities.
- Advise on render farm performance, storage allocation, and versioning — ensuring the creative teams have reliable, high-performance systems to work with.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud rendering and distributed compute options in partnership with IT and production leadership.
- Act as the bridge between creative and production and IT — translating artistic needs into technical requirements without managing day-to-day IT operations.
- Research & Development
- Explore and test emerging tools, plugins, and technologies that can enhance creative workflows and efficiency.
- Keep the studio at the forefront of new developments.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools or scripts that streamline everyday tasks and reduce friction in production.
- Mentor mid-level and junior artists on technical approaches, workflows, and problem-solving.
- Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting complex project challenges in Houdini or C4D.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, sharing, and technical excellence across the studio.
Come Prepared to Talk about:
- Problems you've identified across multiple projects and the systemic changes you implemented to address them at a studio level, not just on a single job.
- Tools or scripts you've built from scratch to solve recurring production problems, and how you rolled them out successfully.
- A production you delivered under serious pressure and how you performed when it mattered most.
- Your deep understanding of rendering optimisation, pipeline architecture, and 3D production workflows — and specifically how you've walked into a new studio, assessed what needed fixing, and made a fast impact from day one.
- Times you've anticipated a technical problem before it became a crisis, and what you did about it. Our most senior technical hire needs to be ahead of issues, not reacting to them.
- Your passion for emerging technologies and how you actively bring new tools and thinking back to the teams you work with.
