At FutureCare our Floor Techs are an integral part of our facility team, delivering first impressions by maintaining a clean and sanitary environment throughout the facility. Our Floor Techs are held to a high level of standard and are accountable for quick and proper responses to promote a culture of safety.

Competitive Pay: $15.97 - 18.25/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Operate designated floor equipment to include auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors to strip, scrub, and shampoo and wax floors.
  • Utilize automated floor cleaning equipment according to schedule for cleaning of large area of floor surface.
  • Use the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering (shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.).
  • Operate industrial floor care equipment as assigned.
  • Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
  • Clean, sweep, vacuum, and polish floors.
  • Use various tools, equipment, and cleaning materials.
  • Clean identified or assigned areas/spaces with required cleaners and disinfecting solutions.
  • Assist in cleaning common areas.
  • Remove trash from assigned areas.
  • Moves furniture, miscellaneous equipment, supplies and/or recyclable materials.
  • Assist with resident wheelchair cleaning and disinfecting.
  • Promptly report all maintenance problems.
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures to ensure sanitary conditions.
  • Keep equipment, carts and work areas clean, reporting any problems.
  • Abide by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School education or GED.
  • Able to operate floor care equipment, such as buffers, burnishers, “wet vac” and auto scrubbers.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and write such as to be able to read labels on cleaning and detergent materials, disinfecting solutions.
  • Ability to operate large powered vacuum cleaners, cleaning and buffing equipment.
  • Ability to interact and/or work with staff members, family members, and visitors in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Ability to lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects and materials weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk or otherwise move about the facility on a continuous basis.
