Future Build Recruitment are working with a well-established civil engineering specialist who is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. A strong civils background is essential, and experience in the water utilities sector is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial responsibility for allocated projects, including monthly reporting.
- Manage and mentor junior commercial team members.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and the supply chain, including standard rate agreements.
- Prepare and submit accurate valuations, supported by site visits where required.
- Follow up on payments, keeping senior management informed of any issues.
- Price and agree project variations with clients and subcontractors, maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare contractual notices and administer subcontract conditions in line with company procedures.
- Ensure timely and fair resolution of client and subcontractor final accounts.
- Maintain organised commercial files, both electronic and hard copy.
- Support pre-construction activities alongside the bid and contracts teams.
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in a civils environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual management principles.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in water utilities desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior team members effectively.
