Contracts Manager - Refurbishment
Location: North / North East London
Projects: Internal & External Refurbishment - up to £5m
A well-established medium-sized main contractor based in North / North East London is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
The company specialises in internal and external refurbishment projects, delivering schemes valued up to approximately £5m across London and the surrounding areas.
The Contracts Manager will have overall responsibility for a number of projects at any one time, managing schemes from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple refurbishment projects valued up to £5m.
- Manage and support Site Managers and project teams.
- Programme, plan and monitor projects to ensure successful delivery.
- Manage subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the commercial team on project performance and cost control.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to a high standard.
- Oversee both internal refurbishment and external building works, including façade, roofing, window, masonry and associated remedial packages.
- Identify potential programme, contractual and commercial issues and deal with them proactively.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager for a main contractor.
- Strong background in refurbishment projects rather than purely new build.
- Experience delivering projects in the £1m-£5m range.
- Comfortable managing several projects simultaneously.
- Good technical understanding of both internal and external refurbishment works.
- Strong client-facing and subcontractor management skills.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, hands-on approach.
